Blank Inside

You know those greeting cards that are blank inside?
The comedian Brian Reagan does a great bit about them and their purpose. He points out it’s just a picture folded over. What are they for? “Sorry you’re feeling so blank inside?”
Anyway, he does the bit way better than I could ever recount, and it’s hilarious.

It’s the phrase “blank inside” that popped in my head as I started to write today's post. When you’re getting ready for pictures outside or putting on makeup in general, one thing you don’t want people thinking as they look at your face is “blank inside”.

This is why you define your features.
If you’re going to be outside, use black. Black eyeliner and black mascara so that your features don’t get washed out by the rest of your face.

Please, whatever you do, don’t go heavy with the eyeliner (again, applying in natural light will help prevent that), but do be sure to define your eyes and make them pop. The same goes with blush. Apply in natural light and start with a very light application.
You can ALWAYS apply more, but if you do go slowly.

And finally, even if you’re not a lipstick lover-wear some for the pictures. If you don’t, your lips will disappear and later on you’ll wonder heavily what you were thinking hiding those awesome lips of yours!

All of your features are gorgeous and even more so with definition. Don’t skip a step!

Even if you typically don’t wear a lot of makeup, try it out and go take pictures of yourself outside and see what a difference it can make!
