The Only Opinion that Matters

It's the goal setting time of year and all this week we've been talking about ways to set goals for how you want to look.

We talked about hair, clothing and nail goals that will help you feel good about yourself and maybe take things up a notch in the coming months.

But the thing that I hope sets this blog a part from all the other beauty blogs out there is that we don't stop at the outside beauty, we keep on going to the inside...ok, that sounds awkward.

What I mean is this...

You can do all you want to your outward appearance, heck you can be the most beautiful woman in the world and get a minute and a half of air time during the college football championship, but if you don't have God, you've got nothing.

The scripture for the year is, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." -Philippians 4:13 That includes loving yourself.

I think it's such a travesty when a beautiful woman doesn't think she's beautiful. Not just because it's such a waste of beauty she could be confidently enjoying, but also because I know it doesn't please God when we don't bask in the person He's created us to be.

He wants more than anything to see you happy and comfortable in your own skin, because He loves exactly where your eyes are, your height, how your hair grows and what color it is (even though sometimes He doesn't have a hand in that *ifyaknowwhatimean ;)

Think about it, the God who created the universe, the one who uttered the words that to this day still keeps the world spinning and the sun rising-He, the most important man of all, He thinks you're the most beautiful thing in the whole wide world.

His love for us never fails and it doesn't stop short at how we look.
Let His love for you rub off on how you see yourself.

He loved us so much He sent His own son to die, so that we might have everlasting life. The Bible says in John 10:10, "I came so you can have real and eternal life, more and better than you ever dreamed." More and better than you ever dreamed! I can dream big-and He wants us to have life better than even that!!!

So add another goal to your goal list this year, let Him love on you every day. When you see yourself in the mirror-remember that He loves what He sees and start the opinion you have of yourself from there :)
