Beauty News: Hair and Balanced

While most people wake up and check the news to see what's going on in the world, I wake up and bury my face in beauty news.

(And that's how you know you're reading the right blog ;)

So forget checking up on all the sad/despressing/people in government are being idiots again news, and lets start the week off with some happy stuff!

Starting with local shopping (sorry out-of-towners, we'll get to you in a second)...
Here in Knoxville some new shops are getting ready to be birthed and it's really very quite exciting. I've heard that the building downtown on Market Square is now ready for Urban Outfitters to move in, which means funny gifts and cute clothes will soon be readily available after we leisurely patrol the farmers market.

Anthropology is getting ready to open and will be doing so on Kingston Pike in Bearden. If you're coming from downtown on Kingston Pike it's on your left and before you get to Sonic and Buddy's.

Oh what fun it will be to have some new options, and ones that are off the beaten path at that!

In other news, over the weekend I perused GB Shoes off of Clinton Highway. Not a bad little shoe stop. I've complimented several pairs of shoes whose owners have told me they come from there, so my expectations were high.

Unfortunately like many of those kinds of stores (Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc...) it's clearly a hit or miss thing. BUT I will keep them as shoe destination in my mind because their selection was vast and their discounts deep. I like when I can look around and see heels for less than $40, and Uggs for less than $150. What they have is a nice mix of name brand and knock off, giving everyone something in their price range.

And I didn't forget you, out-of-towners, if you don't have a GB shoes in your neck of the woods, they do have a website (here!) so don't feel left out.

Well that's all the beauty news I have, now back to you! Have a very spiffy day!
