Booster Shot

Here at The Spiff our goal is to give you little ways to feel better about yourself, and with a new season coming around and school starting back up, it's a good time to serve up a big gulp of confidence.  After all, you're required to get shots to start school off right and healthy, so why not get a shot of confidence to fend off all the insecurities that are going to try and come your way...

The best way to start off a week of venti size shots of confidence is with a fail safe way to cure, "one of those days."

It's pretty difficult to break yourself out of a foul mood when your hair is disobedient, or when you can't figure out what to wear, or worse yet, you don't like what you're wearing and there's no turning back. Add to all of that life's little stresses and it's hard not to bite the head off the first person you see. It's also hard not to travel down a path of self-loathing on those kinds of days.

I say it's hard, but it's not impossible to break yourself free. What you need is some praise and worship.

I have found that praise and worship is like drinking water. If you're not a water drinker then you typically can go a day or two without drinking much. But if everyday you drink what's recommended then your body will quickly get used to having that much water, and if you go even half a day without it you'll get headaches and physically feel the need for more.

The same is true with worship. If you consider it something that is used to kill time at the beginning of a service to let all the late comers get to their seats, then chances are you can go without it. But if you worship God on a daily basis you will find that your soul will begin to crave it.

Thus today's spiff: worship and praise your Creator.
When you feel yourself getting agitated at everything and you start to pick out things about your person that you hate, stop, make a worship playlist, hit shuffle and worship to the first thing that pops up. It will make all the difference in the world and will save you from wasting your day.

Ps: Work out to fast praise songs-I promise you there is nothing more electrifying.
